One Week After Lizzo Was Sued For Sexual Harassment, More Ex-Dancers Are Apparently Coming Forward

Last week, Lizzo was sued by three former dancers for sexual harassment and creating a hostile work environment.
"The stunning nature of how Lizzo and her management team treated their performers seems to go against everything Lizzo stands for publicly," the dancers' lawyer, Ron Zambrano, said in a statement, "while privately, she weight-shames her dancers and demeans them in ways that are not only illegal but absolutely demoralizing.”
Lizzo later publicly responded to the lawsuit, claiming that the allegations were "false" and "outrageous."
“I am not here to be looked at as a victim, but I also know that I am not the villain that people and the media have portrayed me to be these last few days,” she wrote in a statement.
One thing is for sure: Lizzo's statement did not stop people from coming forward. Director Sophia Nahli Allison alleged that Lizzo treated her with "disrespect" and was “arrogant, self-centered, and unkind” while directing a documentary on the singer in 2019. She also said she walked off the gig after two weeks.
Now, NBC News reports that, according to the lawyers representing the ex-dancers, more allegations — and potential legal action — might be on the way.
Ron Zambrano told the news outlet that his firm was reviewing new allegations from "at least six people" who toured with Lizzo — some as her dancers, some as participants of her Amazon Studios reality show Lizzo's Watch Out for the Big Grrrls.
He also said that the allegations regard a “sexually charged environment” as well as issues with not paying Lizzo's employees. "Some of the claims we are reviewing may be actionable, but it is too soon to say," he told NBC News.
The outlet also notes that Zambrano has alleged that Lizzo told her dancers that it was “normal” for them to get “fired when they get fat” during a meeting earlier this year.
