‘Law & Order: SVU’ Sneak Peek — Did Fin Let a Rapist Go Free?

Law & Order: SVU is masterful at ripping from the headlines, and now it’s ripping from Netflix documentaries.

This week’s episode is the NBC drama’s take on Making a Murderer, the buzzed-about documentary that captivated Netflix viewers. On SVU, convicted rapist Sean Roberts (guest star Henry Thomas) is released from prison after 16 years when DNA evidence exonerates him. But in this exclusive sneak peek, Det. Fin Tutuola (Ice-T) finds a disturbing scene when he’s called to the home of Melanie (guest star Kelli Williams) — the woman who originally accused Roberts of rape.

“Mother was sleeping,” a police officer tells Fin’s partner, Det. Amanda Rollins (Kelli Giddish). Meanwhile, Melanie’s daughter “was raped, strangled, stabbed, doused in bleached, burned.” Fin is horrified when Melanie once again accuses Roberts. Did he just help to get a rapist out of prison?

Law & Order: SVU airs Wednesdays at 9 p.m. on NBC.
