While we’ll have to wait until the next season of Law & Order: SVU to find out about Rollins and Carisi’s first child, Kelli Giddish on Thursday announced that she’d given birth to a baby boy.

“My husband and I welcomed Oldie Richards on June 20th and we are so in love and so very grateful,” Giddish posted on Instagram alongside a black-and-white photo of her, hubby Beau Richards and the baby. “Oldie — you’ve brought immeasurable JOY to me and your daddy and your two brothers (and your grandparents and aunts and uncles!). You wake up smiling and the light you bring to each moment is truly incredible.”

Giddish has two sons, Ludo and Charlie, with ex-husband Lawrence Faulborn.

As TVLine exclusively revealed in April, Rollins was pregnant during her recent Law & Order: Organized Crime and SVU guest-star stint, which coincided with Giddish’s real-life pregnancy. In the final episode of Giddish’s run as a series regular, Rollins married Assistant District Attorney Dominic “Sonny” Carisi in an impromptu courthouse ceremony attended by their co-workers. She then left her job as a Special Victims Unit detective to take a teaching position at Fordham.

Rollins’ Season 24 departure coincided with Giddish’s, which she spoke about after the news broke in August 2022. “I wanted to address the chatter I’ve seen online and let everyone know that this will, indeed, be my last season on Law & Order: SVU,” she wrote at the time. “Playing Rollins has been one of the greatest joys and privileges of my life. I’ve been so fortunate to be a part of the Law & Order family for the last 12 years. There is simply no other character on TV like Rollins. She’s grown and changed, and I have as well. I started on this show when I was in my late 20s and I’m grateful I got to spend so many of my adult years with Rollins in my life.”
