Mariska Hargitay's Capt. Olivia Benson and Christopher Meloni's Det. Elliot Stabler, who had once again deferred their romance when 'SVU' and 'Organized Crime' ended last May, are back to business

The wait is over Law & Order fans!

Law & Order, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and Law & Order: Organized Crime are returning on Jan. 18, eight months after their most recent season finales last May.

A new supertease debuted Wednesday on Today offered the first glimpse of many fan favorites returning to action. The clip begins with a mother telling SVU's Capt. Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay), "You have to find her — you have to.”

Benson promises, "We're going to find your daughter."

Later in the clip, Benson kicks down a door and finds a wall covered in photos of a teen leading her to believe that “this girl was targeted.”

"You promised me you'd find my daughter!" the emotional mother yells at Benson.

Benson is also seen in an interrogation room with a man who asks, "Can I go home now?" and she replies, "That's not how this works."

In a bit of fan service, Benson is still wearing the gold compass necklace Det. Elliot Stabler (Christopher Meloni) gave her on the season finale of Organized Crime before telling her that he would be going away on an undercover assignment.

In the teases for Stabler's spinoff series, the fiery detective wastes no time getting back into the mix after his time away.

"When you're undercover, one mistake and it's all over," he warns Det. Bobby Reyes (Rick Gonzalez) and Sgt. Ayanna Bell (Danielle Moné Truitt).

"We'll get 'em," Bell says, and Stabler responds, "You're damn right I'm going to get 'em.

Law & Order's E.A.D.A. Nolan Price (Hugh Dancy) knows “it's now or never” when it comes to solving crimes.

The clip also shows new cast member Reid Scott, who reportedly will play an NYPD detective, joining Det. Jalen Shaw (Mehcad Brooks). ADA Samantha Maroun (Odelya Halevi) and Lt. Kate Dixon (Camryn Manheim).

Shaw sums up the tension and the stakes best: "No one else needs to die today."
