Is there a world where Elliot Stabler (Christopher Meloni) won't be on TV anymore? If the Law and Order universe has its way, fans may see the former SVU agent in a different light... and potentially on a different network.

In a report made by Deadline on April 25, fans of Law and Organized Crime got word that NBC (the network the drama currently airs on) is working on bringing the series back for a possible season 5 with 10 episodes in the 2024-2025 TV season. But as viewers anxiously wait to hear official word from the network about the show's future, the outlet revealed there may be an unexpected caveat that will surprise folks about the deal.

According to the publication, Law and Order: Organized Crime may not air on NBC, which also airs its predecessors Law and Order and Law and Order: SVU. There is a potential for the show to leave NBC and instead air new episodes on Peacock, with the new season dropping exclusively on the streaming site.

The news of the potential move for Law and Order: Organized Crime comes after the network announced the renewal of Law and Order for season 24 and Law and Order: SVU for a remarkable season 26 back in March.

Variety also noted that three other shows from franchise creator Dick Wolf got renewed (Chicago Fire, Chicago P.D. and Chicago Med) by NBC for the upcoming TV season, leaving just Law and Order: Organized Crime hanging in the balance.

As far as what is happening with the current installment of Law and Order: Organized Crime, season 4 sees Stabler on the hunt for a serial killer after being suspended from the case. His work also finds him at odds with his younger brother Joe Jr. (Michael Trotter), who's come back into the picture and is seemingly getting himself into a bit of trouble.

Looks like we need to keep our fingers crossed for good news soon!
