‘Law & Order’ Director Gets 10 Years Probation on Child Porn Charges
Television director Jace Alexander, best known for his work on “Law & Order,” was sentenced to ten years probation on child pornography charges, according to the Associated Press. Alexander was sentenced on Tuesday in New York after pleading guilty to promoting a sexual performance by a child and possessing an obscene sexual performance by a child.
Alexander, who had faced up to seven years in prison, must now register as a sex offender in New York. On July 24, 2015, an investigator from the Westchester County DA’s office had downloaded child pornography from an IP address in Westchester. Authorities later found that the IP address came from Alexander’s Dobbs Ferry home.
Following his July 29, 2015, arrest Alexander resigned from his position as second vice president of the DGA. Brooke Kennedy (“Third Watch,” “The Good Wife”) took up the second VP position after his resignation. In turn, Matthew Penn (“Royal Pains”) filled Kennedy’s seat on the 21-member national board.
