Lauren Boebert’s Son Arrested on More than 20 Charges Related to Vehicle Trespasses and Property Thefts

Local Colorado authorities say Tyler Boebert is facing five felony counts and "over 15 additional misdemeanor and petty offenses"
Colorado Rep. Lauren Boebert's son Tyler Jay Boebert has been arrested on felony charges connected to a recent string of property thefts and vehicle trespasses, authorities revealed on Tuesday night.
The Rifle Police Department in Colorado shared on Facebook that Tyler, 18, is facing "four felony counts of Criminal Possession ID Documents - Multiple Victims, one felony count of Conspiracy to Commit a Felony, and over 15 additional misdemeanor and petty offenses."
"This is an ongoing investigation, no further information will be released at this time. All suspects are considered innocent until adjudicated guilty in a court of law," the statement added.
The Garfield County Sheriff's Office lists Tyler among its current inmates, with no information about bond or a release date.
A spokesperson for Congresswoman Boebert, 37, did not immediately respond to PEOPLE's request for comment.
Tyler's arrest comes weeks after Lauren's ex-husband was arrested following an alleged public altercation involving the former couple.
Jayson Boebert, 43, was arrested in January on suspicion of misdemeanor assault and criminal mischief, according to Garfield County records viewed by CBS News. He was released from the county jail on the same day of his arrest.
The Silt Police Department in northwest Colorado confirmed to PEOPLE at the time that it had launched an investigation after Jayson claimed he was a victim of domestic violence, alleging that his ex-wife "punched" him in the face multiple times at a restaurant.
"It's an ongoing investigation," Silk Police Chief Mike Kite said. "Law enforcement did respond to the Miner’s Claim [a restaurant located in Silt] on Saturday, for an incident involving Lauren and her ex-husband."
Kite added: "Right now, we're waiting to interview some additional witnesses and checking on some additional security footage.
Lauren, in a statement shared with PEOPLE, called the incident "a sad situation for all," saying, "I didn't punch Jayson in the face and no one was arrested. I will be consulting with my lawyer about the false claims he made against me and evaluate all of my legal options."
She was granted a restraining order against Jayson in early February, CBS News reported.

Lauren — who filed for divorce from Jayson last spring, citing irreconcilable differences — has represented Colorado's 3rd Congressional District since 2021.
A controversial far-right politician, she has previously made headlines for calling her Republican primary challenger "groomer" (a term for a person who sexually abuses children), and for vowing in political ads to carry a weapon to work in Congress. She once reportedly got into a standoff with Capitol Police when she refused to allow officers to search her bag after setting off metal detectors just days after the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol riots.

Lauren narrowly secured a second term in November 2022 after underdog Democratic challenger Adam Frisch came within 600 votes of unseating her, triggering an automatic recount.
In December, she announced that she would run in a different, more solidly Republican congressional district in 2024, avoiding a likely rematch with Frisch.
