Lauralee Bell Jump Scares Her “The Young and the Restless ”Castmates While Ringing In 2024 in Behind-the-Scenes Video

For Lauralee Bell, it's never too early to ring in the new year — and startle your castmates in the process!

On Sunday, the soap actress, 55, shared a fun behind-the-scenes video on Instagram capturing her pulling a little prank on her fellow The Young and the Restless stars.

"Just having a little fun," Bell says in her dressing room while holding a noisemaker, before going around the set of the CBS daytime series to scare her castmates including Eric Braeden, Joshua Marrow and Michelle Stafford with the noise while filming their reactions. Some actors are so startled by the sound, they jump and curse.

"Never much time between scenes but just enough to have a little FUN 🎉," Bell captioned the video. "Happy New Year!!! #yr is so grateful for you!! We were taping our #newyears show, why not bring a horn!! #🎉 😂 #happynewyear #2024." The video was edited by Bell's daughter, Samantha Martin.

Bell has played villain Christine "Cricket" Williams on The Young and the Restless for 40 years. In November, she reflected on her career milestone in an exclusive interview with PEOPLE, saying the time has “gone by in a blink.”

Her parents, William Bell and Lee Phillip Bell, created both The Young and the Restless and The Bold and the Beautiful, and she said she never expected to act at all. However, she appeared on the show as an extra at 9 years old, with no lines to speak. Eventually, the character of Cricket was written for her and she hasn't looked back since.

Bell celebrated her birthday with her husband, Scott Martin, and loved ones three days before Christmas in a picturesque skiing destination.
