While Flack is willingly stepping down, it doesn't seem to be a decision that she's happy making.

"Love Island has been my world for the last five years, it's the best show on telly. In order to not detract attention from the upcoming series I feel the best thing I can do is to stand down for Series 6. I want to wish the incredible team working on the show a fantastic series in Cape Town," Flack told UK outlet The Sun.

The incident that Flack is attempting prevent from detracting attention is the accusations of assault against her. On December 12th, Flack was arrested after allegedly assaulting her boyfriend Lewis Burton in their home. According to Independent, witnesses saw six cop cars and an ambulance in front of their homes as a result of an altercation. However, Burton denies the claims of assault against girlfriend Caroline Flack. “I’m tired of the lies and abuse aimed at my girlfriend. This is not a witch hunt this is someone’s life,” Burton wrote on his Instagram story

“I have not signed any NDA. Why would I? Caroline is the most lovely girl. Loyal and kind. She doesn’t deserve any of this.”

However, ITV is already on the hunt for a replacement host. According to DailyMail, "MailOnline can reveal that ITV is gearing up to announce that Irish presenter, Laura Whitmore, WILL host the show, as bosses are 'keen to keep it in the family.'"

However, a source confirmed to the Mirror, “Laura will replace Caroline. The deal is nearly finalized.”

Laura Whitmore is more than qualified for the job having hosted 'Survival Of The Fittest.' She also has a special inside connection with 'Love Island.' She is currently dating renowned 'Love Island' narrator and jokester Iain Stirling.

'Winter Love Island' is set to premiere on January 12th, 2020. Lovers will bring the heat to South Africa in Cape Town. The franchise announced its spin off series during the finale of hit reality TV show 'I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!'
