“Explosive Encounters: Where Paint Meets Thread” is an exhibit of artwork made from alcohol ink paintings printed on fabric and quilted.

A reception to meet the artist is set for 5-7:30 p.m. Friday at OCAF, 34 School St. Leiden will host a talk and demonstration of this type art at 2 p.m. March 16 at the arts center.

Leiden has a master’s degree from the Rhode Island School of Design and a degree from the Massachusetts College of Art. For 30 years she was owner of Laura Leiden Calligraphy Inc. in Watkinsville.

“I have always loved color … bold, vibrant color. Alcohol inks are exceptionally bright and intense,” she said.
