Things got chippy on The Ingraham Angle Monday when Laura Ingraham sparred with Senator Bill Cassidy (R-LA) over the $1.2 trillion infrastructure bill, which is expected to pass the Senate in the near future. Ingraham believes this will open the door for House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and some of the more progressive Democrats to pass a $3.5 trillion spending package, which includes funding for family programs, clean energy and Medicare expansion. But Cassidy sees things differently. He believes that passing the infrastructure bill will prevent the much larger spending package from being passed, and that opposition to the bill aligns with Pelosi.

“You guys got played on this,” Ingraham said. “You had to vote first, or agree first, they still haven't shown the text of their legislation, have they, sir?” “The ironic thing is, you are agreeing with ‘the squad’ and Bernie (Sanders). It’s amazing,” Cassidy said. “You are agreeing with Pelosi. We think this makes that behemoth less likely to pass.”

- The tax increase that the bipartisan infrastructure bill makes possible, the $3.5 trillion behemoth that you will not support. Correct?

- So I reject your characterization.

- Republican Senator from Louisiana, Bill Cassidy, appeared on the Ingraham Angle, Monday, where he sparred with Laura Ingraham over the Senate's $1.2 trillion infrastructure bill expected to pass in the near future. Ingram believes this would open the door for House Speaker, Nancy Pelosi, and progressives in the House to pass a much larger spending package. But Cassidy said, Ingram's opposition aligns with Pelosi, and progressive Democrats.

- You guys got played on this. You had to vote, first, or agree first. They still haven't shown the text of their legislation. Have they, sir?

- The ironic thing is you are agreeing with the squad, and Bernie. It's amazing. You're agreeing with Pelosi.

- Cassidy argued that Pelosi wants to combine the two bills in order to get the largest spending package passed, and that passing the infrastructure bill will prevent that.

- We make that bill less likely to pass. But if we sink this bill, and you marry them together, it's more likely to pass.

- OK.

- That's just what simple logic tells you.

- Senator--

- I'm not quite following.

- You don't follow?

- But, Ingram wasn't buying it, and she and Cassidy went at it till the end.

- When they pass the $3.5 trillion, are you going to come back on the show and say, you were wrong?

- Oh, so--

- Yes or no?

- Even though we--

- OK, no.

- I'll come back on the show. But even though we've made it less possible, if it still happened, somehow, this is to blame. Now, that logic is specious, and you know that.
