Laura Ingraham Fans Launch #IStandWithLaura As More Sponsors Exit Over David Hogg Apology Rebuff – Update
UPDATED with more details: Laura Ingraham fans have launched an #IStandWithLaura boycott of the growing number of advertisers who have moved spots out of her Fox News Channel show.
Jenny Craig, Atlantis Paradise Island resort, and Office Depot, are moving ads out of the primetime show, according to published reports, which would bring the tally to a dozen announced sponsors, including some that have done so since Ingraham apologized to Parkland high school shooting survivor David Hogg “in the spirit of Holy Week.”
Meanwhile, Hogg on Friday morning told CNN he found it “disgusting” that Ingraham had “basically tried promoting her show after ‘apologizing'”; he continued to push his followers to contact her advertisers in the interview.
But Ingraham fans launched a counteroffensive, #IStandWithLaura boycott of advertisers who pull spots from The Ingraham Angle:
#IStandWithLaura. Given a choice, I stand with Laura over the laundry detergent eating children who have NO CLUE.

I feel terrible for the horrific tragedy Parkland Students went through.
But I do not feel bad for David Hogg.
I believe he was a radicalised leftist well before this shooting & relishes this opportunity to grandstand his agenda in front of a global audience.

Such a shame big companies let a young a$$ punk (who can’t even get in college) drive them in the ground! #smdh

Looking forward to boycotting every advertiser who bowed to the pressure of this punk driven movement. Hope Hogg gets over his 15 minutes of fame so I don't have to see his arrogant face again. #IStandWithLaura

I proudly cancelled my @hulu subscription. I will not give my money to a company who does not believe in free speech and uses fascist-like tactics to silence people they disagree with. I encourage you to do the same. #IStandWithLaura#BoycottHulu@IngrahamAngle

Nutrish, Rachel Ray’s pet-food company, is credited with being first to pull ads from The Ingraham Angle, issuing a statement saying “We are in the process of removing our ads from Laura Ingraham’s program.”
“Thank you,” Hogg tweeted.
TripAdvisor joined the exodus, explaining in a statement first published by Politico, “In our view, these statements focused on a high school student, cross the line of decency.”
Wayfair, Expedia, Nestle, Stelara manufacturer Johnson & Johnson, Jos. A Bank, and Stitch Fix followed suit. Also Hulu:
We’d like to confirm that we are no longer advertising on Laura Ingraham’s show and are monitoring all of our ad placements carefully.

The fracas started when Ingraham picked up on mockery of Hogg’s tweet about being rejected by some colleges to which he had applied:
“David Hogg Rejected By Four Colleges To Which He Applied and whines about it,” Ingraham wrote. “(Dinged by UCLA with a 4.1 GPA…totally predictable given acceptance rates.)”
Hogg responded in a tweet asking who are her biggest advertisers:
Soooo @IngrahamAngle what are your biggest advertisers … Asking for a friend. #BoycottIngramAdverts

He quickly followed that with this:
Pick a number 1-12 contact the company next to that #

Thursday she apologized when companies began announcing they were pulling spots from her program.
Her apology had been expected to nip the advertiser exodus in the bud, while putting other TV pundits on notice, lest future trashing of school shooting survivors be brought to the attention of advertisers.
In a tweet, however, Ingraham credited Holy Week, not advertiser bailout, with her apology:
“Any student should be proud of a 4.2 GPA —incl. @DavidHogg111,” Ingraham wrote in her tweet of atonement. “On reflection, in the spirit of Holy Week, I apologize for any upset or hurt my tweet caused him or any of the brave victims of Parkland.”

She followed that with a line claiming her show had been first to have Hogg on the air, and inviting him back for a “productive” discussion:
… immediately after that horrific shooting and even noted how "poised" he was given the tragedy. As always, he’s welcome to return to the show anytime for a productive discussion. WATCH: https://t.co/5wcd00wWpd (2/2)

Hogg, who is among those Parkland students advocating for more gun control measures after 17 people were killed in his school by a former student with a semi-automatic rifle, was having none of it, declining Ingraham’s apology, which he dismissed as an effort to save her advertisers.
“#ShutUpAndBeObjective,” Hogg tweeted Thursday, playing off Ingraham’s previous suggestion that LeBron James should “shut up and dribble” after James criticized President Donald Trump.

Hogg also retweeted one of his sister, Lauren Hogg’s tweets in which she suggests the apology lacked a certain sincerity coming, as it did, after advertisers began to bail.
*Waits till we boycott her advertisers to apologize* wow.

“I 100% agree an apology in an effort to save your advertisers is not enough,” Hogg informed Ingraham. “I will only accept your apology if you denounce the way your network has treated my friends and I in this fight. It’s time to love thy neighbor, not mudsling at children.”
