On Friday (Jan. 26), Jennifer Lopez unveiled a remix of her latest single, “Can’t Get Enough,” with a new verse from Latto. Fans were treated to a music video for the track, which was released on Monday (Jan. 29) and is expected to appear on Lopez’s upcoming LP, This Is Me…Now.

On Tuesday (Jan. 30), Twitter account @pimpsavvvy shared an opinion about the collaboration that many deemed as negative. “Love Latto to death, but who is making these decisions?” the user asked. Latto quickly responded to the inquiry by defending her decision to work with the entertainment veteran. “Girl, I gotta call that THEE Jennifer Lopez wanted to do a song with me,” she wrote. “I made the decision just like you would, too. [The f**k] is you [talking] ’bout?” When another account asked for a new solo release from Latto in the comments, the Atlanta star simply replied, “Next.”

The criticism arrived after fans complained about Latto working with unknown artists. Specifically, the XXL Freshman alum jumped on rising star Anycia’s “Back Outside” single, which was released along with a matching clip earlier this month. “Shawty from the Southside and she hard [as f**k]. I don’t care ’bout [all that],” she made clear on social media back in December 2023. “I was an ‘unknown artist’ before and [motherf**kers] acted too big for me.”

As REVOLT previously reported, Latto is joining Ludacris and DJ Khaled as the official judges for the second season of “Rhythm + Flow,” which is expected to return to Netflix by the end of 2024. “I’m bringing the vibes, I feel like I bring the authenticity,” she said about her role in a teaser clip for the show. “This [is] my real life. I’m a contestant-turned-judge, so my opinion holds a little weight around this motherf**ker.” Before her commercial fame, Latto competed in and won the first season of Jermaine Dupri’s reality television series “The Rap Game” in 2016.
