This Latest Update on Charlize Theron & Alex Dimitrijevic's Relationship Has Us Beaming for Her

In May, media outlets confirmed Charlize Theron had a new man in her life: model Alex Dimitrijevic. Now, a few months since the first pictures of them together hit the headlines (check them out HERE!), sources are peeling back the layers of their budding connection.


“Charlize and Alex are more in love than ever,” an insider recently revealed to Us Weekly, noting that “their energies very much match.”

And, despite still being in the beginning of their relationship, which started a few months before May, it seems like Dimitrijevic already has her friends’ stamp of approval. “Alex is a warm and funny guy, he’s supportive and they have a lot of the same interests; hiking, reading, watching TV at home,” the source shared.


“Charlize’s friends love that unlike some of her other relationships, this one has an ease to it,” the insider continued. “Friends think they are in this for the long haul.”

As a reminder, Theron has been previously linked to fellow actor Sean Penn, who she parted ways with in 2015, and actor Peter Towsend, who she split from in 2010. The Mad Max: Fury Road star was also briefly linked to Halle Berry’s ex Gabriel Aubry earlier this year but it seems their relationship quickly fizzled.


Talking to The Drew Barrymore Show in 2021, Theron shared that she had taken some time away from dating since adopting her kids Jackson and August, in 2012 and 2015, respectively.


“I feel like I’m in a place in my life where you’ve gotta come with a lot of game. The kind of game that’s like, my life is really good so you better be able to bring that and maybe better,” she told Barrymore at the time, per Us Weekly. “Because I just won’t accept anything less.”


“I can honestly say this in my life: I don’t feel lonely,” she continued. “Once I had my children, it’s not that it replaces something or makes you less interested in [dating] … It’s a lot of work to be a parent and part of that is at the end of the day, I get in bed and I go, ‘Oh, my God, I wouldn’t want this day to be anything different.'”


Looks like Dimitrijevic has become her exception!
