Late Night Hosts Take Aim at O.J. Simpson Parole

On Thursday, O.J. Simpson was granted parole after spending nearly 9 years in jail for armed robbery. Naturally, late night hosts took notice and had plenty to say about it.

On The Daily Show, Trevor Noah harkened back to when Simpson promised to find the “real killers” after he was acquitted of the murders of his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman.

“Finally. O.J.’s finally free,” Noah said with feigned enthusiasm. “Which is great news because now he finally has time to find the real robbers.”

Conan is currently shooting at Comic-Con in San Diego. Conan O’Brien was happy to be there when Simpson got paroled, but unfortunately for O’Brien, Comic-Con will be long over before Simpson actually gets out.

“Very great to be at Comic-Con surrounded by so many powerful superheroes,” O’Brien said, adding, “Especially on the day that O.J. Simpson was paroled. I have to tell you.”

On The Tonight Show, besides telling his audience to beware of any future Ubers that are white Ford Broncos, Jimmy Fallon imagined what Simpson might do when he gets out: Watch the shows that were recently made about him.

And on The Late Show, Stephen Colbert just couldn’t help bringing President Trump into the mix, saying that Simpson never met with Russian ambassador to the U.S. Sergey Kislyak, unlike Trump.

Colbert then showed a picture of Simpson with Trump and said, “Don’t be too harsh. That was back in 1993, when it was still a coin toss which one of those guys would be president and which one would end up in jail. Maybe both. We might get a two-fer.”
