Late Night Shows Have a Field Day With GOP Health Care Bill Failure
On Monday, late night hosts had a field day with the failure of the long-promised Republican health care plan on Friday. From music to literature to old-timey cartoons, there was no shortage of the ways the comedians took their shots.

On The Daily Show, Trevor Noah compared what happened to what he said is known within the R&B community as the Playa Hater Phenomenon. He said it was like one of those songs where the guy’s hating throughout, singing to a girl about how he’ll treat her better than her current boyfriend. Only in this song, when the girl, America in this case, decides to go along with the singer, i.e., the Republicans, he’s not prepared.
On The Tonight Show, Jimmy Fallon listed off some new books Trump could get started working on: How to Lose Friends and Influence No One; The Giving Up Tree; To Kill a Healthcare Bill; and Oh, the Places You’ll Golf.
The Late Show may have summed up the failure of the bill better than anyone else with a parody of the old Schoolhouse Rock “I’m Just a Bill” cartoon. In this version, things do not go well for the bill.
