‘The Last Jedi’ Trailer Reactions: ‘We Just Heard Luke Speak for the First Time In Over 30 Years!’
“Star Wars: The Last Jedi” owned social media Friday, thanks to a blazing hot poster and a teaser trailer that fired fans’ excitement.
Mark Hamill has become known as a master voice actor since 1983’s “Return of the Jedi,” and his voice — disappointingly absent from “The Force Awakens” — was a highlight of the new teaser.
One excited fan tweeted, “WE JUST HEARD LUKE SPEAK FOR THE FIRST TIME IN OVER 30 YEARS!!”

Technically speaking, Hamill also spoke in a “Force Awakens” trailer — but that was repurposed dialogue from “Return of the Jedi.” This is the first time Luke has said anything new, in character, in… how long has it been? Twitter user @Lukeorgana did the math: “It’s been 33 years, 10 months, and 20 days since we last heard Luke Skywalker speak. Today is the day.”

“Guardians of the Galaxy” Filmmaker James Gunn got emotional seeing R2-D2: “Is it weird that just one second of R2 on screen makes me cry?”

One clever fan even made a rhyme: “Roses are red, my mind can’t comprehend, why did Luke Skywalker say, it’s time for the Jedi to end.”

But for real #TheLastJedi looks dope and if we can just hold off on WWIII until after December that'd be dope too

If there's a bright center to the Universe, it's because of that #TheLastJedi trailer. I can't handle my brain right now. I can't handle.
