Disgraced former USA Gymnastics doctor and convicted sex offender Larry Nassar is back in the headlines after he was reportedly stabbed multiple times in prison. On Sunday, he was in an altercation with a fellow incarcerated person and was stabbed in the back and chest, according to the Associated Press. He is reportedly in stable condition now.

Nassar, who pled guilty to the sexual abuse of underage girls during his tenure as USA Gymnastics and the Michigan State gymnastics team doctor, has been in prison since 2017. At the time, more than 300 women came forward with stories of Nassar's sexual abuse disguised as "medical treatments," and he was sentenced to life in prison.

A lot of his abuse took place at the Karolyi Ranch, the USA Gymnastics National Team Training Center in Huntsville, Texas, run by gymnastics training legends Béla and Márta Károlyi. Parents weren't allowed inside the ranch, enabling the Károlyis to push the teen gymnasts to physical extremes—even fixating on the children's weight—unchallenged by adult guardians.

While Nassar's abuse went on at the famed Karolyi ranch and training facility, it also happened at John Geddert's Twistars USA Gymnastics Club in Michigan, Michigan State University, and at the Holt, Michigan home he shared with his then-wife, Stephanie, and their three children.

Larry Nassar's ex-wife Stephanie has been mentioned throughout the coverage of Nassar’s abuse, which might make you wonder: Who is she?

Stephanie still works as a pediatric physician's assistant.

Stephanie attended Michigan State University in 1992. She graduated in 1999 from the University of Detroit with a Masters degree from their Physician Assistant program, per The Sun. Today, Stephanie continues to work as a pediatric physician's assistant in Lansing, Michigan.

She filed for divorce in 2017.

According to a report from In Touch Weekly, Stephanie filed for divorce on January 25, 2017 and was granted the divorce within six months. She also received sole custody of their three children—two daughters and a son, per The Sun. Neither she nor her children were present for Larry's sentencing and court proceedings last year, per Inquisitor.

Some of Larry's victims were at his wedding to Stephanie.

Larry and Stephanie were married on October 19, 1996, at St. John's Catholic Church in East Lansing, Michigan, according to The Sun.

Sarah Klein, one of Larry's first victims, knew Stephanie (whose maiden name is Anderson) when she was Nassar’s girlfriend, according to Huffpost. Later, she and at least one other victim, Trinea Gonczar, attended the couples' wedding.

Wondering where Larry Nassar is now? Here's an update on his prison sentence:

She was named in a federal lawsuit against Michigan State University.

One of the sexual abuse survivors, Alaina Bamfield (who read a victim impact statement at his sentencing), claimed she was referred to Larry by Stephanie, who worked as a physician's assistant. Bamfield was then abused by Larry after seeking treatment for neck, back, and hip pain, Fox 47 News reported.
