Larry King's Family 'Thrilled' He's Divorcing Wife, Glad He Finally 'Woke' Up
Larry King's divorce with his wife, Shawn King, was a long time coming, and his family couldn't be happier.
Sources close to Larry tell The Blast during the legendary talk show host's health scare earlier this year, he came to a realization that Shawn "doesn't care" about him.
We're told Larry felt his wife was more concerned about how she was going to cash in while he was close to death, and once he recovered decided it was time to change things.
Sources close to the family tell us Larry's children and friends fully support the split and are glad he finally "woke up."
We're told the Kings have pretty much been separated for years now, and even slept in separate bedrooms.
The Blast broke the story, 85-year-old King filed for divorce just shy of the couple's 22-year wedding anniversary.
Larry and Shawn originally tied the knot back in 1997, and in 2010 both filed for divorce before later reconciling.
There have been cheating allegations between the two -- Larry was accused of messing around with Shawn's sister ... while she allegedly carried on an affair with their son's little league baseball coach.
As we reported, Larry claims he officially split with Shawn on June 6.
He listed irreconcilable differences for the cause, but didn't list any requests for support.
In total, Larry has 4 children, including 2 sons with Shawn. The boys, Cannon and Chance, are both over 18-years-old, so child support won't be an issue in the divorce.
Larry also has a 50-year-old daughter, Chaia, and a 57-year-old son, Larry King Jr.
