Update: Some I-84 lanes in Boise reopen near Five Mile after morning crash, vehicle fire

Idaho State Police have reopened two lanes in both directions of Interstate 84 after a car crash and fire broke out Tuesday morning.

State Police said in a tweet that the crash occurred just before 7:30 a.m. Tuesday and injuries were reported, though ISP did not say how many people were injured.

At around 12:25 p.m., ISP announced the roadway was partially reopen.

Drivers on Interstate 84 saw major delays during the Tuesday morning commute.

Multiple police agencies were at the scene of the crash, which involved at least two vehicles in the westbound lanes of I-84 near the Five Mile Road overpass and milepost 48, according to tweets from Idaho State Police.

State Police said in a tweet at 7:45 a.m. that at least one of the vehicles involved was on fire.

Traffic backed up in both directions following the crash, causing delays for drivers. State Police diverted eastbound traffic at Eagle Road, and westbound traffic was diverted at Franklin Road on Interstate 184 and at Cole and Overland on I-84.
