Former NSync member Lance Bass opened up about Scientology with comedian Heather McDonald. On an episode of her podcast, Juicy Scoop, Bass revealed his brief involvement with the controversial religion, and who his famous sponsor was.
He admitted, “I was approached by Leah Remini, ironically.”
At the time, Bass confessed, he and his ex-boyfriend were talked into getting help for their relationship. He said, “Leah was like, ‘I want to bring you in and introduce you, and its really great couples’ counseling course.’ So we went and did, and I must say it’s pretty enlightening.”
Leah Remini has parted ways with the Church of Scientology. The actress is now on a mission to expose the abuse that happens to its members. Her new A&E documentary series, Leah Remini: Scientology and the Aftermath, has been getting a lot of attention.
Bass kept going to the classes but admitted his dealings with the church were over after about a month. He has been openly talking about his experience since.
