Lance Bass to Host HGTV’s ‘Outrageous Holiday Homes’ Special on Thanksgiving

HGTV is making amends with Lance Bass.

After outbidding him on “The Brady Bunch” house last year, the network has given the former ‘NSYNC star his own holiday special.

“Outrageous Holiday Houses” will air on Thanksgiving Day at 11 p.m. ET/PT, which features Bass on a “whirlwind coast-to-coast tour of North America’s most spectacular holiday displays” that includes towns like Santa Claus, Indiana and North Pole, Alaska, according to HGTV.

“HGTV is stepping into Christmas with some of the most outrageous displays you’ve ever seen,” Bass said. “We’re going to meet the most dedicated and obsessed Christmas fans around. As a huge Christmas fan, I am excited to host this show!”

The first home to be featured on the show belongs to Drew Scott of “Property Brothers.” He and his wife, Linda Phan, transformed their Los Angeles home “into a whimsical gingerbread house bakery” with “edible delights galore, an ascending toy conveyor belt, and handmade candy decorations adorning the exterior.”

In Dallas, another home is made to look like Christmas Candyland, while in Bernville, Pennsylvania, a 300-acre dairy farm features a chicken coop/post office that receives hundreds of letters to Santa.

In August 2018, Bass announced, albeit prematurely, that he was the winning bidder on the “Brady Bunch” house in North Hollywood, California, which was on the market at the time. But just days later, Bass found out he had been outbid by a mysterious corporate buyer, leading him to declare that he was “heartbroken” in a deleted Instagram post, according to CNN.

But when that buyer later turned out to be HGTV — their new series, “A Very Brady Renovation,” premiered in September — Bass changed his tune.

“HGTV??! Aw man. I’d be pretty upset if it were anyone else, but how can you be mad at HGTV??” Bass tweeted. “My television is stuck on that channel. Kudos HGTV, I know you will do the right thing with the house. That was always my biggest worry. I can smile again.”

Now Bass can watch himself on HGTV, so everybody wins.

“Outrageous Holiday Houses” premieres Nov. 28 at 11 p.m. ET/PT on HGTV.
