Lana Del Rey Responds to Mass Shootings in New Song “Looking for America”: Watch

Lana Del Rey has shared a new song called “Looking for America”—a collaboration with Jack Antonoff that was written in response to the recent string of mass shootings. “Now I know I’m not a politician and I’m not trying to be so excuse me for having an opinion—but in light of all of the mass shootings and the back to back shootings in the last couple of days which really affected me on a cellular level I just wanted to post this video that our engineer Laura took 20 minutes ago,” she wrote. “I hope you like it.” Watch her record the new song in the studio on Instagram.

Today she also shared a cover of Donovan’s 1966 song “Season of the Witch.” A snippet of her “spooky cover” appears in the trailer for the new horror film Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark. The movie was directed by André Øvredal and produced by Guillermo del Toro. It hits theaters this Friday, August 9. Check out her cover in the trailer below.

Lana Del Rey’s new album Norman Fucking Rockwell! is out August 30. She kicks off her tour in September.
