Lala Kent is opening up about her decision to reach out to her former costar Rachel “Raquel” Leviss on the season 11 premiere of Vanderpump Rules.

During Tuesday's Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen following the premiere, the 33-year-old reality star shared how she found empathy for Leviss, 29, after her shocking affair with Tom Sandoval that led to the end of his relationship with Ariana Madix.

Kent confirmed that Leviss has not responded to the voice note she was seen recording and sending to her on the premiere episode, adding that "the universe really protects me at all costs."

"Cut to she does Bethenny [Frankel]'s podcast and I'm like, 'And I never would have reached out to you had I had a crystal ball,'" she continued. "I thought she was going to go bag groceries at Vaughn's, or something, and live a normal life. You know?"

Of her initial compassion for Leviss, Kent said: "I wanted to say don't wear this forever, good luck in life. It wasn't like, 'Come! Be in the friend group."

On Tuesday’s season 11 premiere of the hit Bravo show, Kent confessed to Lisa Vanderpump that she could now understand how Leviss began to feel “isolated” during her affair with Sandoval because she had a similar experience with ex Randall Emmett.

In October 2021, Kent and Emmett called off their engagement after three years, with Kent later accusing Emmett of cheating on her repeatedly. In July 2022, Emmett was accused of offering a woman film roles in exchange for sexual favors in a piece published by the Los Angeles Times, which he “staunchly” denied in a statement to PEOPLE.

“I know what it’s like to have a man in front of you, painting a beautiful picture, saying, 'You’re the one for me, you’re my soulmate,’ and you see what your future could be with this person,” she explained during the episode. “And you’re willing to risk it all so much that I ignored everyone around me telling me, ‘Girl, you’re the other woman.’”

Vanderpump was surprised that Kent was the first to find compassion for Leviss after she attacked her former costar during the season 10 reunion — which she said she later regretted. She said, “Out of all of them, Lala was the last person I would expect to have empathy for Raquel… so maybe if there’s room for forgiveness from Lala, the others will come around.”

After the conversation, Kent sent Leviss a supportive voice note and asked to have a conversation with her despite her decision to no longer film with the rest of the cast amid the backlash of the affair.

Kent later told Madix that she needed to be “very honest” with her about her actions.

“The last five minutes of the Raquel thing, there was one thing that she said ... which was, 'If I don’t follow what Tom has told me, I don’t feel like I’m gonna have anybody,'” she said referring to Leviss’s admission during the finale part of the VPR reunion. “I was like, I don’t want her to wear this for the rest of her life.”

“I want you to know that I sent her a message last night,” she added, leaving the group shocked.

Madix shared that Kent’s actions were a double standard after she encouraged all of her friends to cease communication with Emmett after their split.

“It is kinda wild if you think about it because maybe for a year [or] year and half, if anybody interacted with Lala’s ex, she was ready to murder him, cut his balls off, f--- you. I just feel like if the shoe was on the other foot and I was reaching out to Randall’s mistress, I don’t think Lala would be very happy with me.”
