Lake Michigan College's Mendel Center presents Jarabe Mexicano
BENTON HARBOR — Jarabe Mexicano performs at 8 p.m. April 19 at Lake Michigan College’s Mendel Center, 2755 E. Napier Ave.
The band performs what it calls “bordeño-soul,” which honors the musical tastes and cultural influences of its members — a mix of Mexican folk, rock and roll, Norteño/Tex-Mex, Latin rock, trio romántico and reggae-cumbia.
Their programming for audiences of all ages features music and personal stories that highlight what it’s like to grow up along the U.S.-Mexico border.
Jarabe Miexicano’s traditional Mariachi string instruments and Norteño-inspired drums complement dramatic vocals in English, Spanish and Spanglish.
Tickets are $75-$25.
