The trailer for My Lady Jane previews the upcoming alt-history comedy series from Prime Video imagining a different path for the historical figure Lady Jane, which will release all eight episodes on Thursday, June 27.

The upcoming show is inspired by the best-selling book of the same name, which is described as a radical retelling of English royal history. In it, King Henry VIII’s son, Edward, does not die of tuberculosis. Lady Jane Grey and her husband Guildford are not beheaded either. Instead, the story focuses on Jane herself. She’s shocked to be crowned queen, finding herself the target of nefarious villains coming for the crown.
