The Leonard Bernstein biopic Maestro had its premiere in Los Angeles on Tuesday (Dec. 12), during which director and leading man Bradley Cooper caught up with his A Star Is Born co-star Lady Gaga on the black carpet.

Cooper donned a smart three-piece black suit, and Gaga wore a black tailored suit too, with silver beaded elements. The two posed solo and with Cooper’s Maestro co-star Carey Mulligan and Cooper’s 6-year-old daughter Lea De Seine, whom he shares with ex-girlfriend Irina Shayk. The Maestro premiere also sweetly marks Lea De Seine’s first red-carpet event.

Speaking with E!, Cooper gushed about having Gaga supporting him at the Maestro premiere in light of their history on A Star Is Born.

“It means the world to me,” he told the outlet on Tuesday night. “Also because I’m really excited for her to see the movie. She’s a dear friend and we went through such an incredible experience together, so you just want to share the art with each other.”

A Star Is Born served as Gaga’s first role as a leading lady. The 2018 film, also directed by Cooper, scored eight Oscar nominations, including best actor for Cooper and best actress for Gaga, but took home the award for best original song for the movie’s hit duet “Shallow.”

Maestro follows the life of American conductor and cultural icon Leonard Bernstein, in addition to the lifelong relationship between him and wife Felicia Montealegre Cohn Bernstein (Mulligan). The movie is in select theaters now and will debut Dec. 20 on Netflix.
