The MPAA outlined the upcoming Todd Phillips–directed sequel's rating on its official website.

Are you (potentially) ready for the Joker's disco stick? Because Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga's highly anticipated soon-to-be blockbuster Joker: Folie à Deux is rated R for "fully nudity."

According to the Motion Picture Association of America's official ratings site, the Joker sequel contains "some strong violence, language throughout, some sexuality, and brief full nudity" in its reportedly musically tinged narrative, which introduces Gaga as famed DC Comics villainess Harley Quinn.

The description doesn't elaborate on the nature of the nudity that appears in the film, but Entertainment Weekly has reached out to its distributor, Warner Bros., for more information.

Little is known about the plot points of director Todd Phillips' Joker: Folie à Deux, though the film is rumored to pick up after the events of the 2019 original, with Arthur Fleck (Phoenix, who becomes the Gotham City menace throughout the course of the first film) falling for a psychiatrist, Dr. Harleen Quinzel (Gaga), at Arkham Asylum.

The movie's first poster might confirm this, showing Phoenix dipping Gaga in a haunting dance as light seems to trickle in from one of the asylum's windows. The title's French expression also directly translates to "madness for two" and commonly describes a shared delusion between two tightly bound individuals.

On Tuesday, the movie's verified TikTok account offered a brief preview of Gaga's voice as Harley Quinn, with her channeling a sensual, breathy version of the character, who typically speaks with a bold Brooklyn accent, as originated by Arleen Sorkin in Batman: The Animated Series.

"You can do anything you want," Gaga's Harley coos in the clip. "You're Joker."

The movie is set to follow the success of the first film, which grossed more than $1 billion at the global box office, earned a Best Picture nomination at the 2020 Oscars, and snagged Phoenix a Best Actor win for his portrayal of the Batman franchise villain.

Warner Bros.' Joker: Folie à Deux — which also stars Zazie Beetz, Brendan Gleeson, and Catherine Keener, and is produced by Gaga's A Star Is Born director-costar Bradley Cooper — lands in theaters Oct. 4.
