Lady Gaga spoke on the power of makeup and how it molded her into the star she is today, all while announcing her upcoming cosmetics line.
"When I was young, I never felt beautiful. And as I struggled to find a sense of both inner and outer beauty, I discovered the power of makeup," the "Shallow" star wrote.
Reflecting back on the time with her mother, Cynthia Germanotta, Gaga explained, "I remember watching my mother put her makeup on every morning, basking in the glow of her power to put on her bravest face as the hard working woman she was. I then began to experiment with makeup as a way to make my dreams of being as strong as my mother become true."
She said that "Lady Gaga" was a "superhero" persona the star was able to invent, and stressed that "Sometimes beauty doesn't come naturally from within. But I'm so grateful that makeup inspired a bravery in me I didn't know I had."
"I've come to accept that I discovered my beauty by having the ability to invent myself and transform. They said I was just weird, but really, I was just Born This Way," Gaga wrote while giving a nod to her famous 2011 hit with the same name.
The name of her new project is titled, Haus Laboratories, and as we reported will be producing a ton of cosmetics for all the Little Monsters, including foundation, eyeliners, shadows and lipsticks.
Gaga, who recently performed a killer concert at the legendary Apollo Theater in NYC, is already receiving messages from fans eager to fork over their cash for some of her cosmetics products.
"TAKE ALL MY MONEY," one fan wrote, while another theorized, "we’re gonna be soooooo broke !!!"
HAUS LABORATORIES will be available for pre-order next Monday.
