Lady Gaga Gets a 'La Vie en Rose' Tattoo on Her Spine to Pay Tribute to A Star Is Born

Lady Gaga has a permanent piece of A Star Is Born inked on her body forever.

The award-winning actress and singer, 32, debuted a large, brand new tattoo on her spine that pays tribute to her role in the acclaimed musical-drama — just in time for Valentine’s Day.

“Happy Valentine’s Day. A tattoo toast to “la vie en rose” by the beautiful @winterstone my spinal cord is now a rose,” Gaga wrote on Instagram alongside a photo of the completed tattoo of an intricate outline of a single rose on a long stem with the words, “la vie en rose” written in script beside it.

The Édith Piaf song plays an important role in A Star Is Born. When Bradley Cooper‘s character Jackson Maine stops at a drag bar for a night cap, he stumbles upon Gaga’s character Ally beautifully performing “La Vie en Rose” onstage and is instantly transfixed.

“I wanted to put him in a situation where you would think he would behave a certain way but he doesn’t at all. I didn’t want her to sing a song that she had written, and ‘La Vie en Rose’ is a song that I’d heard her sing in real life for the first time,” Cooper, who both directed and starred in the film, told Digital Spy. “It felt like a drag bar would be the perfect place to explore and then define for the audience who these people are.”

But that isn’t the only musical-inspired tat Gaga got.
