Lady Antebellum: "Army"
Elliot: NOT MEANT TO BE POLITICAL! When I was growing up, products were American made, and it took one family member to support a household. Woman were home to raise the children. The Middle Class came into being, people bought homes and cars. Fast forward to today, and foreign countries make most of our products, it takes two people to support their family, goods have become cheaper, but American labor now earns far less income. Other countries have grown a higher percentage of Middle Class, and our Middle class is shrinking. Mounting costs on "non-imported" items like medical care and college educations are placed on our young, forcing them into early debt. I wonder if we haven't traded the price of lower cost goods, for our independence? AGAIN..Not meant to be political, since this has been happening under both parties. I do believe it is possible to make more money, choices of more jobs, and be content to own less.
