Alert! This is not a drill. Hallmark just announced that the stars of two of the highest rated cable movies of 2023, A Merry Scottish Christmas and A Biltmore Christmas, Mississippi native Lacey Chabert and Kristoffer Polaha will be paired together for the first time on screen in a brand new festive flick.

Hallmark is making sure we feel that holiday cheer year-round as they continue to gradually announce new films we can expect in this year’s Countdown to Christmas. It will be the 15th annual holiday movie bonanza on the feel-good network. In February they announced Santa Tell Me,  the first film on this year’s line up, and a reunion of When Calls the Heart stars Erin Krakow and Daniel Lissing. In March we learned about The Finnish Line, that was filmed on location in Iceland and Finland.

Today, Hallmark added to the line up. The Christmas Quest, starring Chabert and Polaha, was also filmed on location in Iceland. It’s what the network has billed as a “thrilling adventure romance.” Tuesday afternoon the two stars took to social media to share just a tease ahead of today’s announcement, giving us just a glimpse of what is to come this holiday season.

The official statement from Hallmark describes The Christmas Quest’s plot as follows:

“An archeologist (Chabert) and her ex-husband (Polaha), an expert in ancient Norse languages, are sent to Iceland at Christmastime to search for a legendary treasure.  When others join in the hunt, the pair find themselves swept into a thrilling adventure as they race to keep it from falling into the wrong hands.”

Filming just wrapped and we spoke to Polaha about his first time working with Chabert. “Lacey was absolutely amazing to work with. A total pro.” This marks The Shift star’s seventh Hallmark Christmas movie and it’s Chabert’s 15th. Hard to believe these two have never been paired together before. We can’t wait!
