LA Mayor’s Race: Karen Bass Widens Lead Over Rick Caruso After Latest Vote Count

Democratic Congresswoman Karen Bass widened her lead against businessman Rick Caruso in the Los Angles Mayoral race in the latest batch of counted votes released Los Angeles Registrar Recorder/County Clerk’s office.

According to the latest numbers, Bass is ahead 375,143 to Caruso’s 338,794 — a difference of 36,349.

The county is continuing to count votes.

The race has been a nailbiter since election day, with Bass maintain a narrow lead over Caruso.

Both candidates have largely stayed off social media, but on Nov. 10 Caruso tweeted that he was expecting a tight finish.

“As predicted, this is a close race,” he wrote. “There are hundreds of thousands of votes to count and as expected we are going to see different results each time. I continue to be cautiously optimistic about these numbers and look forward to the next series of results in the coming weeks.”

An estimated 1,452,192 people voted in the LA mayoral election this year, according to county officials.
