LA Knight is set to get honored in his hometown, where he’ll receive the key to the city.

The city of Hagerstown (Maryland) announced the move this week, and said that Knight would be honored in a ceremony on Saturday, December 23, 2023, at University Plaza in the city.

“The City of Hagerstown will present one of its own, and currently one of the most popular Superstars in World Wrestling Entertainment, with the key to the city on Saturday, December 23 at noon at University Plaza,” the announcement reads. “Now known around the globe as “LA Knight”, Shaun Ricker was born in Hagerstown on November 1, 1982 and graduated from North Hagerstown High School in 2000. The public is invited to attend this recognition ceremony on Saturday as he returns to his hometown to receive this unique and well-deserved honor. ‘Yeah!’”

Knight grew up in Hagerstown, where he graduated from North Hagerstown High School (class of 2000), and was a part of the school’s track team. Since his graduation, Knight has gone on to become one of the biggest stars in WWE, where he currently wrestles on the SmackDown brand.

Looking at moments

During a recent edition of 20 Questions with TNT Sports, Knight was asked which day of his career he would like to relive. However, Knight said he doesn’t have one yet.

“I don’t think I’m there yet,” Knight said. “I like to look back and I like to have little moments every now and then where it’s just like, ‘Oh, hey, man, that was cool,’ but I can’t help myself. I’m very much focused on what’s coming and what’s in front of me to where it’s tough for me to really pinpoint down anything like that.”

Later, Knight addressed some of his favorite moments from his career rather than his best match.

“I’m usually looking more at moments than I had matches,” Knight said. “If you want to look at moments, you have to think about almost getting there at Money in the Bank. You think about the Slim Jim battle royal [at SummerSlam] and taking that one at Ford Field in front of 55,000 people or however many were there, I don’t remember.”
