Kyra Sedgwick Shares Pic of First Time She Met Kevin Bacon in 1987: 'My Valentine Every Day'

The pair met on the set of the movie 'Lemon Sky' and have been married for 35 years

Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick are still loved-up after 35 years of marriage.

On Wednesday, Sedgwick, 58, took to Instagram to celebrate Valentine's Day by sharing a photo taken on the set of the movie Lemon Sky where their romance began.

"This is a blurry Polaroid of where it all started, (on set shooting Lemon Sky in 1987). And it’s been clear ever since… Love you forever. #MyValentineEveryDay," the actress captioned the photo, which showed the pair lying on sun chairs in front of a classic car.

Bacon, 65, responded by sharing a cute black and white photo taken on their 1988 wedding day, which showed Bacon with his arm around his wife, who had her head placed lovingly on his shoulder.

"My forever Valentine ❤️," he captioned the post.

Decades after meeting on the movie, the couple are still working together. They teamed up in 2022 for the movie Space Oddity, which Sedgwick directed and Bacon starred in.

Last month, PEOPLE confirmed Bacon and Sedgwick are also set to costar in the upcoming movie Connescence, which will be their first film role together since they appeared in Cavedweller and The Woodsman in 2004.

While speaking to PEOPLE in March 2023, Bacon spoke about it being love at first sight when he spotted Sedgwick on the set of Lemon Sky all those years ago.

"I was knocked out," he said. "I thought she was amazing."

Sedgwick, however, wasn't so sure about Bacon — who had already had a taste of fame thanks to his role as Ren McCormack in 1984's Footloose. "I remember thinking, 'Oh, he thinks he's really cool,' " she told PEOPLE.

Despite this, the pair went on a date anyway, and the rest is history.

"I remember waking up and going, 'I feel like home,'" she recalled. "I realized, 'Oh, that was him.' "

The couple — who share son Travis, 34, and daughter Sosie, 31, together — added to PEOPLE that being able to make each other laugh has been a key ingredient in their marriage.

"A sense of humor is crucial," said Sedgwick. "He is very freaking funny."
