Kylie Reminisces About Meeting Tyga for the First Time When She Was Only 14

First came When Harry Met Sally — but that pales in comparison to when Tyga met Kylie. On Wednesday, while watching old Keeping Up With the Kardashians episodes, Kylie Jenner reminisced via Snapchat about meeting her now-boyfriend Tyga for the first time, back when she was 14 years old and he was 22.

Knowing Tyga was one of her older sister Kendall Jenner’s faves, Kylie booked the rapper for Kendall’s 16th birthday bash. (Let’s all just take a minute to recall the entertainment at our own sweet 16 bash, shall we? Sigh.)

In a vintage clip from her family’s reality show, a barely high school-aged Kylie nervously explained, “I was able to book a musical guest for Kendall. He’s one of her favorite rappers and I’m nervous. I hope she likes it!” Spoiler alert: She did.

The soiree was in full swing when Tyga burst through the doors, rapping and shirtless, much to Kendall’s delight. “I can’t believe Tyga is at my party!” the model cheered.

But, much like Meg Ryan and Billy Crystal, Kylie and Tyga did not experience love at first sight. Asked by a fan over Twitter, “Did @KylieJenner get her first crush on Tyga when [he performed] at Kendall’s birthday?” Kylie didn’t miss a beat.

“NOOOOO!” the makeup maven replied.

That’s probably for the best, since Tyga was dating model Blac Chyna at the time (with whom he had a son in October 2012 named King Cairo Stevenson).

In 2014, a while after he and Blac Chyna split, Tyga starting spending lots of quality time with Kylie. After a few years of playing coy while she was underage, they finally went public with their romance last August — once she turned 18.

But wait a minute — you thought Blac Chyna was Kylie’s brother, Rob Kardashian’s girlfriend? Oh, she is.

Meanwhile, things have been heating up between Rob and Blac Chyna. Though the family was reportedly “in shock” when news broke in January that these two were a pair, it seems like at least some of the Kardashian clan has warmed up to the idea.

Last month, momager Kris Jenner admitted to ET that while she “didn’t really know much” about their relationship, she thought “they seem great.”

And that’s how you do love, Kardashian-style.
