This year’s event, hosted by actress Tracee Ellis Ross, will recognize Kylie Minogue, Maren Morris, Ice Spice, Charli XCX, Young Miko, Victoria Monét, NewJeans, TEMS and Luísa Sonza. This year will feature Minogue, 55, receiving the coveted icon award. The honor comes after the Australian superstar released her 16th studio album Tension to acclaim last year, sparking a global hit with the lead single “Padam Padam.”

Morris, 33, will be celebrated with the visionary award.

The Grammy winner has remained committed to speaking out against injustices throughout her career, which in part inspired her to step away from the country music business and release her EP The Bridge on Columbia Records instead of Columbia Nashville last year.

Ice Spice, 24, who has broken out exponentially in the past year, is being honored with the hitmaker award.

In 2023 alone, the rapper had five songs at different points of the year all within the top 10 of Billboard's Hot 100, including her collaboration with Taylor Swift on the “Karma” remix and her team-ups with Nicki Minaj like “Barbie World” and “Princess Diana.”

The powerhouse award will go to British pop star Charli XCX, 31, in honor of the innovations she’s made to the pop genre and contribution to the Barbie soundtrack.

For the first time in nearly a decade, the hitmaker returned to the Hot 100 in 2023 with “Speed Drive,” her infectious song off Barbie: The Album.

A handful of rising stars will be honored, as well. Puerto Rican artist Young Miko, 25, who teamed up with Bad Bunny and Karol G on features last year and broke out with “Classy 101,” is the impact award honoree.

Monét, 34, is being honored with the rising star award. Her debut studio album Jaguar II and its hit single “On My Mama” led to her breakthrough in 2023, as well as being among the most-nominated artists at the upcoming 2024 Grammy Awards.

The Billboard Women in Music honor for the group of the year will go to K-pop icons NewJeans. The five-piece group’s sophomore EP Get Up debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart in 2023, and the ‘90s and ‘00s-inspired singers have increasingly become mainstays in pop and the fashion world.

Nigerian singer/songwriter/producer TEMS, 28, is up for the breakthrough award. The honor comes shortly after the musician has started releasing her first solo singles in years, following the success of collaborations with A-listers like Beyoncé, Drake, Rihanna and others.

The 2024 event will see Sonza, 25, receive the global force award. The Brazilian singer’s third studio album Escândalo Íntimo arrived in August.

Billboard’s editorial director Hannah Karp shared a statement in a press release about this year’s slate of honorees and host. “We could not be more excited to celebrate these inspiring and dynamic artists from around the world, as they move our culture forward and inspire women everywhere to push boundaries and pursue their own dreams,” Karp said, “With the talented Tracee Ellis Ross as our host, this year’s Billboard Women in Music Awards will be an unforgettable evening.”
