It looks like Billie Eilish didn’t learn anything from recent award show lip-reading scandals that swept up stars like Emily Blunt and John Krasinski, and Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez. The talented musician has been caught in a controversy of her own after her whispered conversation to Kylie Minogue at the 2024 People’s Choice Awards was caught on camera.

Eilish and Minogue attended the popular award show in Santa Monica on Sunday, Feb. 18 and were seen chatting up a storm. Unfortunately, though, one particular moment in the conversation was picked up by fans and it looks like the What Was I Made For singer may have been gossiping about other guests at the award show.

“There’s so many TikTokers here,” Eilish appeared to say to Minogue while partially covering her mouth. In response, the Australian superstar seemed to say: “Like no need” while both stars nodded in agreement.

There was certainly a large contingent of TikTok stars at the event from Alix Earle to Markell Washington, in addition to stars like America Ferrera and Carmen Electra, so perhaps we could say that Eilish’s statement was more of an observation than a criticism! But fans on Twitter were quick to latch on to the moment.

“Billie DRAGGING the tiktokers! She’s so real,” one fan wrote. “Billie Eilish doesn’t like TikTokers confirmed.”

That said, it was still a good night for Eilish, 22, who won The TV Performance of the Year award for her role in Swarm. She was also nominated in the Pop Artist of the Year category but lost out to Taylor Swift who skipped out on the award show.
