Kylie Jenner's Ex-Assistant: 'Why I Quit'
It might be time to polish up your résumé.
Kylie Jenner's assistant of many years departed from her seemingly prestigious position last spring. Victoria Villarroel, 27, began her Kardashian kareer career in 2012 as an intern at Jenner Communications. It was there that she built a personal relationship with Kylie and was promoted to personal assistant status between 2014 and 2015. She now boasts over 900,000 Instagram followers of her own, and is still a somewhat regular feature in Kylie's posts.
Villarroel did not delay in responding to new rumors that began swirling on January 14th regarding their professional split.

“I worked with Kylie for 5 years and she became one of my closest friends. We both decided it was time to grow without each other professionally about a year ago," she wrote via Instagram story. Victoria's statement continued to assure people that there is no drama of any kind between herself and Kylie. "She’s still one of my best friends and our relationship has only gotten stronger. Now let’s focus our time and energy on other things! A lot [is] happening in the world right now.”
That's her story and she's sticking to it.
She sang a similar tune when she spoke to Girl Cult Podcast in April 2019. In the episode, Victoria sat down with host (Insta handle @LexieJayy to discuss her career with Kylie and the Jenner clan as well as how she landed her first industry internship with Vogue. She told the podcast about her experience juggling her internship with Jenner Communications internship while she was also a student at Los Angeles' famed Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising (FIDM).
A source stepped forward to Us Weekly on January 13th with Villarroel's allegedly new professional plans.
“Victoria wants to be an influencer in her own right and is focusing on that now," the insider said. “Kylie and Victoria are still friends and close. Kylie doesn’t have any bad feelings about Victoria going off to do her own thing and is supportive.”
There's really no reason why Kylie wouldn't be supportive - it's not like Victoria ran off to start her own cosmetics company (although that'd be a fun twist).
Considering how many friends and professional contacts the two share, it's best that they continue to stay on good terms.
For example, if you keep up with Kylie in any way then you are probably familiar with BFF Stassie Karanikalaou. Apparently Stassie shares a publicist with Victoria.
So, unless one of these girl's pulls a Jordyn Woods, then their friendship status with Kylie is probably secure.
But all of this still begs the big question: If we become Kylie's friend-slash-assistant, do we get a publicist, too?
