If you are surprised by how over the top Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott went for daughter Stormi Webster’s first birthday party on Saturday, you haven’t been paying close attention. After all, no one does birthdays like the Kardashian-Jenner clan.
“I had to go all out for my baby,” Jenner wrote on Instagram, where she documented all of “Stormi World.” The theme was a riff on Travis Scott’s album Astroworld, which was released last August.
By her own account, the mother and makeup mogul started planning this party back in June. Some of us naively thought she’d decided to go low-key and that this party on Stormi’s actual birthday, Feb. 1, featuring a rainbow sprinkle cake and a petting zoo, would be it for her. But that event was just a preview for the real thing, which was an indoor amusement park, featuring a giant Travis Scott-style inflated baby head entrance. There was a carousel, a swing ride, a “Baby Shark” performance, costumed fairy princesses, a magical forest, a wall of giant teddy bears, a bubble room, a Stormi World souvenir shop and images of the adorable tot everywhere.
This Youtube account compiled many of the Instagram stories from the party:
Stormi was not, however, the first of her generation to get such an elaborate treatment on her birthday. Her family has even used this amusement park theme before — way back in 2014, when Kanye West and Kim Kardashian created Kidchella for North West’s first bday. Just last month, North’s baby sister, Chicago, was celebrated with an Alice in Wonderland birthday setup her parents created in their house. Middle child Saint’s first birthday coincided with his father’s release from the hospital for exhaustion in 2016, so it appears there were just a lot of balloons on his big day.
Penelope Disick also had a similar celebration for her first birthday, as far as photos show. Her brother Mason got a petting zoo for his first.
The third Disick kid, Reign, has apparently never had his own solo party since he was born on Mason’s birthday. Still, doubling up has its perks — with a big alien bash for his first birthday, shared with Mason, up to a wild Tarzan party he shared with cousin Saint last year.
And what of Dream Kardashian, daughter of Rob Kardashian and Blac Chyna? It appears the circumstances of her parents’ split have led to double the celebrations in her honor. On her first, dad gave her a car and mom Blac Chyna threw her a mermaid party. For her second, her aunts swooped in to make her a fairy.
Khloe Kardashian looks like she has a lot to live up to when True Thompson’s birthday comes around in April.
