Kylie Jenner has come under fire after an Australian designer accused her of “ripping off” her designs – many of which feature an intricate twisted sleeve design – and using them in her Khy collection.

28-year-old Johansen designer Jessicca Johansen Bell reportedly sent the mom-of-two at least 40 dresses back in 2018, with the 26-year-old billionaire beauty mogul even tagging her in several social media posts at the time. In a now viral TikTok video, Jessica claimed that when she recently saw Kylie in one of the dresses, she assumed it was one of the old designs she had sent her in the past, before going on to discover that it was from Kylie’s own Khy collection.

Australian Designer Slams Kylie Jenner For ‘Ripping Off’ Her Designs

“Guys, am I tripping, or did Kylie Jenner just rip off my entire collection?” Jessica asked in the now viral TikTok video, while wearing one of her white dresses with the instantly recognizable twisted sleeve design.

“I have been dwelling on this for days,” she continued, adding: “We launched a collection so similar to the collection she launched, but we launched ours three or four years ago.”

She added: “It’s been our signature range ever since. I’ve been getting so many DMs from customers and friends and family being like, ‘Is this your dress? Omg you’ve collaborated with Kylie, congratulations.'”

"We've dressed Kylie before, so I just thought it was old stuff," she continued. "Eventually I started looking into it and I was so shocked." She then showed some side-by-side comparisons of her dresses and Kylie's dresses to show just how similar they are.

Johansen Bell then explained that she messaged Kylie's team, who then got back to her with quite a, shall we say interesting, response.

According to Jessica, Kylie's team said: "We developed these designs through our team's hard work and innovation." Jessica then said: "I was just… like if you look up the meaning of innovation, it means new idea."

Johansen Bell Demands An Apology

Johansen Bell said that she is not going to take things further and sue the Kardashians star – but she is demanding an apology. "There has been legal communication, but nothing is getting pursued," she said, according to the Daily Mail. "It's like it's such a fine line between what you can trademark. There are consumer laws where I can say that she's stealing like my customer base, or she is damaging my brand reputation."

"There are loopholes and there are ways around it, but it's such a nasty fight and I'm just not in a place where I want to do that," she continued. "I think she should care more. It is just not fair. Instead of going quiet about it, she could have messaged me and said, 'I am sorry.' She could have said, 'Sorry about this I see the similarities.' An apology goes a long way. I hope that this is a lesson for her. She needs to get put in her place. No one is too big for the power of the people."

Social Media Reactions

"You are the original and hers look like it's from Temu. The designs you have are far superior," commented one fan on Jessica's viral TikTok, as another said Kylie had "no shame." "I hope you sue her," wrote another fan, as another agreed and begged her to "take legal action." "Hire a lawyer asap," concurred another.

"'We dressed Kylie before' meaning they requested your clothing to assess it and basically copy it! Wowza!" exclaimed another fan. "The Kardashian/Jenners do not have an original thought," slammed another, as someone else said: "She has defo copied you. She is known for this." "I wasn't prepared for how identical they are," observed another fan, as another fan agreed, adding. "I wasn't expecting them to look so similar omg," followed by four crying emojis. "A billionaire and it's still not enough for her!! That's just plain greed!" criticized another.

As well as the thousands of comments on Jessica's viral TikTok video, people also had their say on other social media platforms too, including Reddit. Commenting on a Reddit post with the title "morally corrupt lol," one user said: "Kylie was sent and wore this Australian designer's clothes and completely copied her dresses for her Khy collection and lies and said they were developed by kylie LOL. Always going after the little guy with no consequences… such a POS."

Another user urged people to support Jessica, writing: "If you can, let's support small businesses and small creators. Let's not feed into this capitalist family who doesn't give a rat's [expletive] about us."
