Kylie Jenner recreates her 2017 King Kylie glam in new TikTok makeup tutorial

It’s been a minute since we’ve seen Kylie Jenner in heavy glam, but her edgy King Kylie era still reigns supreme.

The Kardashians star and beauty titan, 26, recently posted a TikTok makeup tutorial on how she recreated her signature bold glam from 2017.

The clip clocks in under two minutes, but has nearly 40 million views since it was posted earlier this week. Here’s a breakdown of her look.

Jenner starts with her eyebrows, making them “as bold and as dark as possible” with an archived Kylie Cosmetics eyebrow kit featuring a pencil, brow gel, colored pomade and a dual-ended brush.

To create a razor-sharp brow shape, Jenner precisely outlines her arches with the pomade on a tapered brush and then adds concealer on the bottom for a defined look. “I think I killed it,” she says in a voiceover.

She then applies a warm-toned brown eye shadow to her lids but cleans up the edges to get a cut crease.

Since 2010s glam was all about a full beat, Jenner expertly contours, brightens and “bakes” her face by strategically applying her concealer (“lots and lots” of it), bronzer and loose translucent powder on her cheekbones, forehead and nose.

She pulls the whole look together with a swipe of pink blush, eyelash extensions with a touch of mascara on the bottom lashes and a plump mauve lip achieved with a liquid lipstick and pencil.

“This was really like a therapeutic experience for me and brought me back to such an amazing time in my life,” she said.

Over the past year or so, Jenner has substituted her multi-step routine with simplified glam that highlights her natural features — which, by the way, is not influenced by her boyfriend, Timothée Chalamet.

In an interview with The New York Times published on March 7, she gracefully shut down any rumors related to her appearance and her current partner, to whom she has been linked since 2023.

“I don’t know how I feel about that,” Jenner said. “I just don’t want to talk about personal things.”

She added she wasn't aware of the chatter, because she tries to exclusively focus on social media comments about her businesses.

She also revealed how motherhood has influenced her style, which also has gone down a more contemporary direction.

“It takes me a while after I have a baby to feel like myself again,” she said, referring to her 2-year-old son Aire Webster (whom she shares with ex Travis Scott). "Then you get your body back, and you’re like, ‘Wait, the trends have changed.' "

Growing up in the spotlight means Jenner has seen her fair share of plastic surgery speculations — but she doesn't pay any mind to the haters. "It’s just years and years of not feeling like my face or looks are accepted,” she said. “There’s nothing anyone could ever say now that would hurt me.”
