Kylie Jenner made a dazzling appearance in a figure-hugging dress at the 2024 Vanity Fair Oscar Party on Sunday.

The makeup mogul and reality star, 26, stepped out solo as she attended the 2024 Academy Awards afterparty on Sunday in a show-stopping look that served "Kylie" from every angle.

As seen on the red carpet, Jenner wore a Ludovic de Saint Sernin gown, which the designer described on Instagram as a "dark red metal mesh cleavage dress." It also featured "a crystal incrustation" inspired by Robert Mapplethorpe's photography.

Jenner's beauty look was equally as glam, featuring nude lip gloss, matching eyeshadow and blush. She also let her hair down as she styled it into a deep side part.

"Dress too good don't wanna take it off," the star wrote on her Instagram Stories as she displayed the Ludovic de Saint Sernin dress in a mirror selfie video.

The Kardashians star then reposted a video from her pal Anastasia Karanikolaou, who recorded the Kylie Cosmetics founder while she posed for cameras by a mirror wall.

Jenner, meanwhile, is no stranger to the afterparty circuit, becoming a mainstay at the star-studded Vanity Fair Oscar Party in recent years.

In 2023, she attended the event alongside sister Kendall Jenner, wearing a custom-made black strapless Maison Margiela gown with a metallic sheen. The dress featured a bow on the bust and a detachable cape-like train attached to the back, which she took off later in the night.

For her part, Kendall pulled from the archives in a glittering old-and-black scalloped gown from Jean Paul Gaultier's spring/summer 2008 haute couture collection. The design featured petal-like details cascading down from the bust.

Jenner's look for the 2020 event was more function over fashion as she celebrated Hollywood's biggest night in a glittering blue strapless gown from Ralph & Russo’s spring/summer 2020 couture collection. It featured a structured rounded corset and straight skirt embellished with sequins and crystals in various shades of blue. The top of the sheath featured a sculptural black crinoline appliqué.

The outfit had a silhouette so structured and form-fitting, however, it didn't leave her much room to move, making the car ride to the Oscar event uncomfortable.

“Couldn’t really sit in this,” she wrote of the dress on Instagram at the time, captioning a gallery of photos with one featuring the star sitting horizontally in the backseat of a car. But despite the lack of comfort and mobility, Kylie said the dress was “worth it.”

Jenner also attended Vanity Fair's 2020 fête with one of her sisters — this time Kim Kardashian, whose look also had a very interesting backstory.

Kardashian made her own style statement in Alexander McQueen’s famous one-shoulder “Oyster” gown — which she had received from ex husband Kanye West as a Christmas gift. The gown, originally from McQueen’s spring/summer 2003 collection, is one of two dresses to ever be produced. The other is on display at the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s collection.

Andrew Bolton, curator at the Met, said in a press release that the Oyster is “arguably considered the most important dress of the 21st century.” He called the one-shoulder gown — with its exposed corset bodice, shredded details and ruffled mermaid skirt — “a poetic rendering of a disaster at sea.”

Jenner's stunning appearance at the 2024 Vanity Fair Oscar Party debut comes at an exciting time for the star — especially as she continues to grow both her fashion (Khy) and beauty (Kylie Cosmetics) brands, while also launching a new line of canned vodka sodas named Sprinter.

She also kicked off awards season in January at the 2024 Golden Globes as boyfriend Timothée Chalamet's date.

Jenner and Chalamet, who was nominated for best performance by a male actor in a motion picture - musical or comedy for his starring role in Wonka, coordinated their looks in shimmery all black designs. The actor stood out in a sparkly black suit from Celine Homme by Hedi Slimane and Cartier jewelry.

For her part, Jenner wore a 1998 Hanae Mori haute couture gown from Beverly Hills' vintage destination Timeless Vixen. She teamed the fully beaded, sheer lace bias-cut gown with a pared down makeup look and an effortless updo.

In a recent interview with The New York Times, Jenner founder was asked to respond to critics who say that her more sophisticated, pared down style approach is influenced by Chalamet, who she's been linked to since 2023.

“I don’t know how I feel about that,” she said, adding that she wasn't aware of the theory. “I just don’t want to talk about personal things.”

When the NYT referenced a "puff-sleeve 'cottagecore' maxidress" that she wore last summer, The Kardashians star cited the birth of her son, Aire Webster, 2, as the reason for her new style direction.

“It takes me a while after I have a baby to feel like myself again,” she said. "Then you get your body back, and you’re like, ‘Wait, the trends have changed.' "

She also addressed the impact that constant criticism of her physical appearance has had on her self esteem, in particular, that TikToks featuring plastic surgeons and others on the platform dissecting her face and speculating on what work she may have had done.

"It’s just years and years of not feeling like my face or looks are accepted,” she said. “There’s nothing anyone could ever say now that would hurt me.”
