Thanksgiving went off without a hitch in the Richards-Umansky household.

At DIRECTV Celebrates Christmas at Kathy's on Tuesday, Kyle Richards — who is currently navigating a separation from Mauricio Umansky after 27 years of marriage — chatted all-things Turkey Day with Extra.

“We get along, we don't argue, so it was actually nice,” Richards, 54, said of her and Umansky's Thanksgiving at the event, which was held at Kathy Hilton's Beverly Hills home.

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star said she and Umansky, 53, “had our friends over — a couple friends — and our girls were there.”

“And then we all watched TV the next day and watched a movie together, so it's nice to be able to have that,” Richards said.

Of their first Thanksgiving since their separation, which PEOPLE confirmed in July, Richards added,  “I mean, I never expected to be in this position in a million years — you know that — and obviously it's not ideal, but I feel proud of the way we are navigating through this difficult time.”

The RHOBH star also acknowledged the awkwardness between herself and Umansky on-screen, and told Extra that she is taking the separation “one day at a time, honestly.”

“People ask me why it was so awkward, the scenes with Mo and me when the season first started. I didn't know how to navigate through that in my personal life, let alone with cameras in my face,” she explained.

“And you can see that, you sense that, it's very awkward, which, it's never been awkward, but I didn't know how to do that,” she said. “I do not have a good poker face.”

With Thanksgiving in the rear-view mirror and the new year on the horizon, Richards just wants herself and her family to be happy.

“I just want to get to a place of being at peace and being able to tune out the noise and the chatter,” she told Extra. “And right now, I'm just focusing on making sure my kids are happy and our family is still a family and happy.”

She added, “I want to go into 2024 as healthy mentally and physically as I can be so that I'm strong and can be a good mom and a good friend and also be good to myself, too.”

On Thanksgiving, both the RHOBH star and real estate mogul shared clips of their holiday celebration — which they spent with “15 or 16” other people, per Umansky — on Instagram.

In a video filmed in the former couple’s kitchen in their Encino, California, home, an apron-clad Umansky smiled while Richards readied the family's Turkey-Day buffet.

“Okay, the turkey has been cut, it has been cooked,” the former Dancing with the Stars contestant said to Richards as she lifted up the serving dish lid. “Let me see the turkey.”

In the same clip, Umansky also showed off mashed potatoes, peas, cranberries, freshly baked cookies — and more turkey. “We are good!” he exclaimed.
