Kurt Busch wins pole for Michigan race

Kurt Busch is starting first in Sunday’s Cup Series race at Michigan.

Busch led a Ford charge in the third round of Friday’s qualifying session. Six of the top seven qualifiers are Fords; the only non-Ford in the top seven is driven by Kurt’s brother Kyle Busch. Kyle starts third behind Brad Keselowski.

The pole is Busch’s second of the season and his third at Michigan. It’s the 24th time overall that he’s qualified first and only once — all the way back in 2002 — has he won a race after earning the pole.

Kyle Larson has won the last three races at Michigan but he didn’t advance out of the first round of qualifying. He’ll start 26th on Sunday. Here’s the full starting lineup for the race:
