KTLA Weather Reporter Asked to Cover Up During Broadcast

Local news — where fun goes to die. KTLA’s Liberté Chan was at the center of some controversy when she was offered a sweater to “cover up” live on the air during her weekend weather report. When she asked why, she was told “we’ve been getting a lot of emails.” While the cocktail dress she was wearing may have been a bit much for morning news, it was by no means too revealing.

Chan posted a video of fellow anchor Chris Burrous reading emails from viewers after the dress controversy. But the video also outlines that the KTLA set on Saturday is pretty loose anyway. Burrous was wearing shorts beneath the desk, while another anchor wore fuzzy socks. This isn’t Chan’s first wardrobe issue, although the last time she went viral it was little more fun. Her dress blended in with the chroma key, which displayed the weather report onto her dress.

Chan went on to explain that the dress was a backup, and she was not in fact forced by KTLA to put on the sweater.
