Shaw recently worked with Waller-Bridge on BBC America hit Killing Eve, where she played the role of Carolyn Martens, the Head of the Russian Service at M16.

In the second season of Fleabag, Waller-Bridge’s eponymous character goes toe to toe with the man upstairs and meets a Priest, played by Sherlock’s Andrew Scott, who jolts her into seeing the world in a different way. Fleabag’s family is also as dysfunctional as ever: her uptight sister Claire, played by Sian Clifford, hasn’t forgiven her, and Claire’s obnoxious alcoholic husband is still on the scene, while the pair are presenting a united front as they come to term with their father’s relationship with their godmother, played by Olivia Colman. Bill Paterson, Brett Gelman, Jenny Rainsford and Hugh Skinner return.

Waller-Bridge said, “They literally begged me to be in it. Begged me. Begged. One of them was crying.” Shaw added, “Phoebe’s mind is like nothing else.”

Scott Thomas said, “Phoebe Waller Bridge cannot be ignored. She manages to hit core issues with sledgehammer brutality as she trips along with a spring in her step. I laughed helplessly as I binge watched the first brilliantly funny series and enjoyed being aghast at times. I was very flattered to be asked to be in series two.”
