Kristin Cavallari Is Sad Her Former Best Friend Kelly Henderson Hasn’t Reached Out Post Divorce
Kristin Cavallari has stated that her former best friend Kelly Henderson has yet to reach out after her split from Jay Cutler. Speaking exclusively to People, Kristin said, “It is really sad. I thought that maybe announcing the divorce and everything that [she would reach out], but no.” We feel for her, there is something about friend break-ups that reach a whole other level of hurt.
On the season 3 premiere of her E! reality show, Very Cavallari, Kristin lamented the loss of her friend, “The biggest change in my personal life is that my best friend Kelly and I haven’t talked in two months,” said the star during a confessional, “We’ve had a major falling out and it’s just been breaking my heart.”
Perhaps the biggest reason as to why these former BFF’S are no longer speaking is due to an ugly rumor that Kelly was having an affair with Kristin’s husband at the time, Jay Cutler.
“Not for one second have I ever thought that it was true,” reassured Cavallari, “It wasn’t the actual accusations of them having an affair that made me upset, it was how Kelly went about it.”
Henderson took matters into her own hands to clear her name in a podcast interview with divorce attorney Laura Wasser. “I’m just gonna go ahead and put this out there, there was never an affair, I have nothing to do with their divorce, and I am not dating Jay Cutler,” confirmed Henderson.
Despite the abrupt and dramatic ending to their friendship, Cavallari revealed that she has finally made peace with it.
“As I get older, I’m kind of like, ‘Why hold onto a friendship or a relationship who’s really toxic in your life? If it’s not bringing you joy, what’s the point?’,” said Cavallari, “Life is too short. I think it’s okay to cut people out of our lives if we need to.”
