Kristin Cavallari Is Now Accusing Jay Cutler of Misconduct & Asking for Primary Custody of Their Kids

When Kristin Cavallari and Jay Cutler announced their split to the public, their messages were full of the respectful, tactful language often employed by celebrities struggling to reconcile their public image with private turmoil. “We have nothing but love and respect for one another and are deeply grateful for the years shared,” Cavallari wrote on Instagram — but papers she filed on Friday tell a different story. Cavallari is now accusing soon-to-be-ex Cutler of misconduct and requesting primary custody of their three kids, sons Camden and Jaxon and daughter Saylor. It seems this reality couple could have more to their divorce than meets the eye.

According to legal documents obtained by Us Weekly, Cavallari is citing the reason for their divorce as “inappropriate marital conduct” and “irreconcilable differences.” She alleged that Cutler was “guilty of such inappropriate marital conduct as renders further cohabitation unsafe and improper,” and denied his claim that he had “always been the available at-home parent and primary caretaker.”

Cavallari’s court filing came a few days after Cutler’s, who initiated the proceedings and cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for their split. Cavallari is now vying for primary custody, and requesting that Cutler continue to provide financial support and pay for the children’s health insurance and related healthcare costs.

There’s no such thing as an easy or pain-free divorce, and anyone who’s been through a custody battle will feel for this family in the months ahead. We’re wishing Cavallari and Cutler all the best as they navigate what’s best for their kids. If Cavallari wants to share more about what exactly that misconduct was, we’ll be here with open ears.
