Kristin Cavallari, Melissa Joan Hart, RJ Mitte and More Team Up with People Now to Battle Cyberbullying

Stars are stepping up to battle cyberbullying.

A slew of celebrities — from Kristin Cavallari and Victoria Justice to Melissa Joan Hart and Nico Tortorella — sat down with People Now cohosts Jeremy Parsons and Andrea Boehlke for a half-hour special on the epidemic, now available to stream on the People / Entertainment Weekly Network (PEN).

“I had a number of different experiences with bullying both physically and verbally,” says RJ Mitte, who was bullied for living with cerebral palsy even after coming to fame on Breaking Bad. “When you have a physical disability, people see it, and they perceive it as a weakness. Yes, we do have to overcome it…but I never backed down.”

In addition to stars who have faced bullying in real life and online, People Now spoke to Dr. Jeff Gardere and Ross Ellis, the founder of anti-bullying organization Stomp Out Bullying.

“The way I stand up to bullies is with kindness and love because I think that’s really what they need,” This Is Us star Chrissy Metz adds. “They’re misunderstood and probably really upset themselves.”
